Congratulations to the Marion Patriot Pride Marching Band for taking fourth place in Class 6A at the State Marching Band Contest Monday in Little Rock! This marks the band's highest finish in the 7-year existence of the state contest!
The band will wrap up its competitive season Saturday at the U.S. Bands Southern State Championships in Huntsville, Alabama. The Patriot Pride will compete against bands from four states at the contest.

To Class of 2023:
Today is the final day to purchase the 2022-2023 yearbook for $50. After today, the price will rise to $65! You can pay online at www.yearbookforever.com OR in person to Mrs. Rakestraw with cash or check. Also, today is the final day to put down a deposit and/or purchase a senior ad page in the yearbook. Full payment is not required unless you choose to pay online. The deposit can only be paid in person. Please let Mrs. Rakestraw know if you have any questions.
Lady Soccer try-outs
On Sunday afternoon, the Marion High School Theatre department closed their performance of "Clue on Stage." The actors and crew performed four public performances and one student matinee during their run of the show.
Their director and teacher Ms. McCoy had this to say about the production, "I'm so proud of the entire cast and crew! They put their all into every performance, and I couldn't have asked for more!" The department is looking forward to more productions in the coming school year.

Want to know who’s behind the door?? You have one more chance to find out! Today at 2PM in the Marion Performing Arts Center is the last performance of “Clue On Stage”. Come out and support this hard working cast and crew!
MHS Theatre Department presents Clue, based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn and written by Sandy Rustin. Friday a student matinee was a reward to students who have been working hard this year.
You can still catch the last 2 shows tonight, Saturday April 2 at 7:00 p.m. or Sunday April 3 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. Be sure to vote for your favorite character. There are character boxes in the lobby where the audience can vote for their favorite character. $1 is 1 vote.

This is a final reminder that picture make-up day is Wednesday, November 3rd. The photographer will set up in the North Annex from 9:00-12:00. Groups will be called out alphabetically by grade, and then a final all-call will be announced. If you wish to purchase school photos, the English teachers have the forms for the photographer. The Marion High School Patriot Pride Marching Band will begin a string of five marching competitions beginning with the Championships at Bartlett Station this Saturday (October 9) at the Bartlett High School Stadium in Bartlett, Tenn. The event begins at 6 p.m., with the MHS performance scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Admission is $10.
MSD parents:
This is a reminder that if your student is missing a required immunization in order to attend school, those are due on October 1st each year. Please check your student's immunization status and keep in mind that your child cannot return to school after the fall break on October 11th, unless we have records indicating they have the required immunization. Immunizations are available at all local health clinics in the community and at the Crittenden County Health Department by calling 870-735-4334. The upcoming fall break would be a great time to get your child immunized without missing any instructional time in the classroom. If you have further questions, please contact the school nurse on your child's campus. Thank you for helping us keep your child healthy and properly learning here at Marion School District.

The appointment window for senior makeups has closed. If you did not make an appointment with Ms. Westerman, please contact the photographer directly at smithartisanphoto@gmail.com
--September 1st is the makeup day (makeup day ONLY. NO RETAKES)! The photos will be in the MPAC. Please go around back to the entrance by the humanities/band room! The front of the MPAC will NOT BE UNLOCKED!
--A $20 sitting fee is required to take photos. This must be paid when you arrive for your photos. The $20 will go toward credit for the purchase of a photo package. After 60 days, the credit will not apply.
--Boys: please bring/wear a white button-down shirt and black tie or bowtie. Girls, please wear a black tank top or spaghetti strap for a drape photo.
--Poses taken on September 1st are Formal Pose and Cap and Gown.
Due to an upgrade in the publisher's system, the website to purchase yearbooks will be down until Monday, August 16th. If you would like to purchase a yearbook or senior ad at the high school during this time, please see Ms. Westerman in the humanities building. The website will resume operations on Tuesday, August 17th. Thank you!
Class of 2022:
Senior make-up photos will be September 1st in the MPAC beginning at 8:00 Am. Students will be called out alphabetically unless Ms. Westerman is otherwise notified of a specific time you need to be scheduled.
A few reminders: This is NOT a re-take day. If you took your photos during the July session, per the photographer, you are no allowed a re-take. If you have an issue with your photos, please contact the photographer!
A $20 sitting fee is required to take your photos. This fee will go toward the purchase of your proofs for the first 60 days. After 60 days, the credit will not apply.
