Big thanks to Crittenden County 4-H agent Ali Salisbury for all of the exciting opportunities that have been offered to MHS students this school year. Ms. Salisbury also provides curriculum supplements or additional 4-H activities to complement teacher lessons. Sewing and archery classes are available starting this month. The MHS Library would like to congratulate the following students for being the top library patrons for the first semester of the 2024-25 school term: Joshua Williams, McKenzie Beith, Crescent Zanelli, Anthony Burgess, Bowen Hightower, Landon Sivley, Caleb Wells, Lauren Brown, Steven Kong, and Jamie Johnson.
These students have 7-45 book circulations, with McKenzie Beith coming in second at 22 book circulations and Joshua Williams coming in first at 45.

It was a Holly Jolly Donut Day for MHS faculty and staff. They warmed up with a cup of cocoa and a donut in celebratory fun for the holiday season.
MHS faculty and staff are at it again! Staff members brought the holiday cheer by wearing Grinch paraphernalia or the color green. Cheer to all the Whos in Patriotville!
The MHS Student Council has sponsored a family’s 2024 Angel Tree Christmas. Each member was responsible for bringing one gift. The student council successfully accomplished this and is going to give this family a Christmas experience they’ll never forget.
This week MHS FCCLA club unloaded food boxes for the Senior Life Center's food pantry. Thank you Ms. Brown and FCCLA for this admirable service project.
MHS students embarked upon a bit of SEL with "Crafts & Conversations." The discussion topics were self-esteem and self-awareness, and the students made bracelets and key chains as a way of self-regulation and self-relaxation.
Mrs. Jamison's Spanish II classes had a blast on their mental vacation to South America. The students "toured" the continent learning about many different countries along the way and documented their discoveries.
MHS students recently had the opportunity visit Arkansas State University. Big thanks to MHS career coaches Whitley Green, Tyler Poole, and Montel Smith for another excellent activity and for all of their efforts to help our students gain the exposure they need to help with their post secondary decisions.
Kudos to Mrs. Jamie White's FACS classes for demonstrating their newfound knowledge of stitching that they learned last week to hand-stitch a design onto small pillows they constructed.
Pear Harbor Remembrance Day is celebrated annually in the U.S. in honor of the 2,000+ Americans who were killed in a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941. This led to the U.S. entering WWII.

Semester Exam time is approaching. Be mindful of the exam schedule as well as other daily routines that may change so that you can plan accordingly.
The MSD counselors went to the YMCA Memphis and participated in the Coats for Kids event. Each MSD campus got winter coats and hats for our students in need. We enjoyed our time there picking out what we thought our students would like. Each campus got 10 coats each.
